Homemaking and magic making

Making ordinary life a little more magical. Good company, happy messes & unreasonable amounts of whimsy. No experts here, just friends.

The front door

Come on in. The door’s open.

Shoes off, or don’t. There’s a chair by the fire and probably something warm on the stove.

Hi. It’s me.
Hi, friend

Oh good, you’re here.

“I’ve come to believe that we mothers are the time keepers and magic makers in our homes. We get to breathe life into this world. All kinds of life.”

Home is where it all begins and the time we have together is precious. I hope your time here brings more magic into your life and home, and reminds you that you’re doing better than you think.

Love, Rachel

I decorate cakes, too.

Garden roses, ferns, berries and whatever’s blooming. A few favorites from over the years.

Letters from the porch

Pull up a chair.

Every so often I’ll write you a letter. A recipe, a tradition we’re trying, whatever magic (or glorious mess) happened at our table that week. No lectures, nothing salesy, just a friend waving from the porch.
